Compact laminate table tops - March 2009

Carlick now have all the cutting tools and CNC edge profilers to enable them to produce compact laminate table tops up to a depth of 12mm, thereby offering the market place a further diversification to our product range.  The thicker the laminate the more self supporting it is, sheets thicker than 8mm are suitable for horizontal use so the finished top can be used alone without a substrate and as such are considered compact laminates.   These compact laminate tops meet all the requirements of EN438 and are impact, moisture resistant and suitable for wet areas.

Compact laminate top specifications

  • Shock resistant, self-supporting and machinable throughout it's thickness.

  • The ideal product for demanding environments: high traffic, humid...

All change at furniture firm Carlick after buy-in deal - 1st February 2008

A family owned furniture manufacturer has changed hands after a management buy-in deal. Lee Shuck and Damian O’Donnell have bought S Carlick and Sons which is based in Heywood and employs 48 staff. The company was established in 1962 and is a major supplier to the contract leisure industry.

The duo, who have each spent 15 years in the furniture industry, have paid an undisclosed sum for the business, which operates from a factory close to the M62 at Park Works, River Street. As a result of the deal the Carlick family has left the business and retired.

Carlick manufactures wooden tables & units for the office furniture and contract markets and produces a range of other commercial products, including boardroom tables. Lee and Damian plan to boost sales and improve the efficiency of the firm’s manufacturing and purchasing operations. Today, Lee said “Carlick is a strong business with good products and an excellent reputation. Damian and I are confident that by using our experience we can bring new ideas and perspective to Carlick to help the business grow and develop new markets.”
